Halls Gap Day 6

Today we went into Halls Gap and walked along the Venus Baths walking track nestled within the gorgeous Grampians mountain ranges. Venus Baths is a picturesque area with a fresh water lake and many unusual rock formations, hence, it is considered a naturally formed water park which offers a tranquil oasis to those who walk through.

This is little bird was there to wish us well as we set off on the walk.

As you walk further into the range you come to the natural rock pools which are just lovely.

The rock formation here is called the Elephants Hide for obvious reasons.

We then strolled through the Botanical Gardens, and stopped to go to the shops in Stoney Creek and found this chap perusing the happenings of the tourists, we then went and had lunch in the Brambuk Centre

At the Brambuk Centre we had company from the tree above whilst we ate our lunch.

Back to Sundial Carpark to head off on our walk to The Pinnacle, we feel today will be a better day for photos. A walk of about 2.2km walking up and down boulders so we know we are getting fitter.

Views along the way from the edge of the range. Ascent to The Pinnacle is via Devils Gap. From the Pinnacle lookout you can see Halls Gap far below you, as well as Lake Bellfield.

The first glimpse of the Pinnacle in the distance.

The rock formations here are just amazing and you can see all sorts of things in and amongst the rocks.

Finally we make it to the top, a smile of accomplishment on Kevin's face.

Home to rest after another 2.2km of rock climbing to get to the car.
